Iran Rules Out Immediate US Talks

Tehran, Iran – Iran's Foreign Ministry has announced a halt to immediate further negotiations with the United States, citing a pattern of "aggressive acts" and broken promises by Washington. Esmaeil Baghaei, the ministry's spokesman, stated on Monday that the US has demonstrated a lack of seriousness in pursuing diplomatic channels.

US Actions Undermine Diplomacy

Baghaei pointed to several US actions as evidence, including a maritime blockade, an attack on an Iranian ship, and Washington's refusal to incorporate a ceasefire in Lebanon into the proposed agreement, despite Iran's explicit communication of this demand through Pakistani mediators. "America claims it is supporting diplomacy, but its actions prove otherwise," Baghaei declared, adding that the US "has learned no lessons" from past encounters.

Negotiations and Sanctions

Regarding the recent talks held in Islamabad, Baghaei clarified that Iran submitted a 10-point proposal, contrary to some media reports suggesting 15 points. He also confirmed that Tehran has received no substantive proposal concerning the lifting of sanctions. Iran's stance on future talks is one of realism, not optimism or pessimism, a perspective shaped by decades of experience with the United States. Baghaei dismissed President Trump's assertion of a phone call with Iranian officials, stating there was "no chance for someone to raise his voice or speak loudly with the Iranians."

Future Deterrence

The Foreign Ministry spokesman reiterated Iran's readiness to respond decisively to any new aggression from the US and Israel. "Iran's armed forces will respond with all strength and with all decisiveness if the US and Israel start a new aggression," he warned, underscoring Iran's firm stance on national security.
